Shumen

The town of Shumen was founded 3,200 years ago. One of the first inhabitants is the Thracians. Later the Thracian fortress became a military Roman castle. During the Ottoman domination Shumen was an administrative and military center.

Every year in the town are held Drumevi theater celebrations "New Bulgarian Drama" near the town of Shumen are the first two capitals of the Bulgarian state - Pliska and Veliki Preslav.
