The Great Basilica of Philippopolis is a late antique church in Plovdiv.It functions in the 5th - 6th c., which was most probably the bishop's cathedral of the city.It is the largest early Christian temple, opened on the territory of Bulgaria and one of the largest on the Balkan Peninsula.The Basilica is a three-nave, with an apse on the eastern edge of the middle ship, and the southern and partly mid-sized ships have been studied.It is in close proximity to the modern Catholic Church of St. Ludwig.
