Pomorie Lake is a coastal lagoon, located north of the town of Pomorie. The lake is separated from the sea by natural sandy sand and artificial dike, and only to the south has a connecting channel through which flows and seawater flows.

Its area is about 7 - 8.5 km2, the length is 5 - 6 km, the width varies from 350 m to the north to 1.6 km in the middle part. Its depth does not exceed 1.4 m and the salinity 60 - 80%. It is used for salt extraction (about 30000 t per year) and curative mud.

Above the lake passes Via Pontica - one of the great airways of migratory birds from all over Europe. 269 different bird species were observed in the wetland area.
